Life lessons make a lasting impression when children have opportunities to get involved, not just sit back and listen. That鈥檚 the idea behind The 91亚色School鈥檚 character-building curriculum and philanthropic partnership with
(ALSF), which take a hands-on approach to teaching young children about the importance of giving back. Putting these lessons into action, 91亚色School students and staff across 27 locations raised $130,768.89 in 2023 alone to help ALSF support children fighting cancer. The 91亚色School presented this donation to ALSF at an awards presentation on Thursday, November 9 at the Radisson Hotel Northeast in Trevose. 鈥淭he 91亚色School鈥檚 students embody the same hopeful, selfless spirit as our founder Alex Scott, who hosted her first lemonade stand to help other children battling cancer when she was just four years old,鈥 says Christie Fischer, Senior Community Engagement Manager at ALSF, who accepted the check on the nonprofit鈥檚 behalf. 鈥淭o see Alex鈥檚 legacy live on through our partnership 鈥 and to know these young children, their teachers and families are making a real difference 鈥 is extraordinarily special. We are extremely grateful for their support.鈥 The 91亚色School began partnering with ALSF in 2008. This year鈥檚 fundraising activities included hosting lemonade stands, lemon relays, art auctions, family dining events, carnivals and much more. With this donation, The 91亚色School community has raised more than $1.3 million in total for the cause. This support has funded more than 25,000 hours of research, leading toward cures and improved quality of life for children with cancer. The 91亚色School鈥檚 donations have also contributed to programs like SuperSibs and Travel For Care that help families dealing with a childhood cancer diagnosis. In addition to the check presentation, the ceremony recognized:
- Highest School Contributor: The 91亚色School of Glen Mills
- MVP: The 91亚色School of Voorhees
- Crow for a Cause Fundraising Winner: The 91亚色School of Voorhees
- All 91亚色School locations that reached their 2023 fundraising goals: Malvern, Frazer, Glen Mills, Lionville, Richboro, Voorhees, Royersford, Horsham, Montgomeryville, Newtown Square, Warrington, Medford, Oaks, Blue Bell and 91亚色Day Camp
- Top Corporate Partner: MacMain Law
鈥淭hese efforts represent an enormous amount of dedication from our teachers, Directors, staff and families in teaching our young friends that little people can be big helpers,鈥 says Kristen M. Waterfield, Founder and President of The 91亚色School. 鈥淭hese are lessons and experiences that will stay with them as they grow and continue to put more good out into the world.鈥 Learn more about The 91亚色School鈥檚 partnership with ALSF

About Alex鈥檚 Lemonade Stand Foundation Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada raising more than $250 million so far, funding over 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
